I've made this card for my friend's forthcoming 50th birthday. It's one of my favourite Sarah Kay images coloured in with Copics. I've used Daisy Bucket papers which I absolutely love, they have a real nice texture to them and a sketch from Creative Inspirations latest challenge. It's great using a sketch as I tend to take forever anyway, choosing papers and colours so anything that makes life easier is good for me.
I've also managed to squeeze this card into the Copics Colour Challenge this week. I don't have the exact colours but have used colours within the same tone. Note to self: Must get some more Copics, LOL.
This week's challenge over at Copic Colour Challenge Blogdoesn't require any particular colour copic - anything goes - but there is a sketch to follow. I've used a Sarah Kay image layered on Ppaermania papers, embellished with gem stones. I've used silver mirriboard, even though the top circle looks like it is yellow! Do pop over to the Copic Colour Challenge, the DT girls have done some brill cards, yet again!
We're having a get-together this evening with some friends to celebrate the Eurovision Song Contest - I know, very cheesy!!!! The idea is that we all chose a country to back (I am Russia as the host country) and we each provide food from that country. I'm really looking forward (I think) to see what Czech Republic bring - although, as they have been knocked out I hear my friend has swapped allegiance to Finland - likewise, wonder what sort of snack that will be?
I have entered the Copic Colour Challenge which you can find here . It was a great excuse to get the Copics out - not that I need one. They are a joy to use, I LOVE them!
The Rules are: This blog is a challenge blog for all copics marker addicts. The colours chosen are for a guide only. You may use 1 or all the colours if you desire. Just make a card or other creation, using the image of your choice but try and follow the colour guide. As long as you use at least one copic as close to one of the colours specified you may use any other medium as well.
Acid Yellow YO8, Brick Beige E31, Mint Green BG 13 are this week's colours.
I've not got the complete set (sigh...they are top of my wishlist) and didn't have exactly the colours stated so the nearest I could get were Yellow YO6, Burnt Umber E29 (blended with E21 and E00 on the fence) and various other colours.
What I wanted to try and create was a scene so first of all I stamped and clear embossed the background and coloured in with my Copics. I then chalked a cloudy sky. I coloured in the Sarah Kay image, cut round it and 3-d it on the page. Embellished with ribbon, sentiment, beads and a butterfly cut out on my Silhouette.
Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and am already looking forward to next week's challenge!
I had seen these Tag Books and straight away I knew I just had to do one, my friend's daughter's birthday was the ideal occasion. All my inspiration came from Hayley, whose Tag Books are fabulous.
Some of the images are Tilda stamps, coloured in with my Whispers brushstrokes and cut out. The other girl images are Sarah Kay found on this website here. I printed them off and found a super tip off another site about "staying" the ink - just give a light spray of hairspray and the ink won't bleed when colouring in!
I used my Silhouette to cut the template book and to cut out all my papers and tags and for the text. The backing papers were mainly from the Papermania Scrumptions pack.
I loved making the book and can't wait to do another one, or something similar...
