Birthday Card

I've made this card for my friend's forthcoming 50th birthday. It's one of my favourite Sarah Kay images coloured in with Copics. I've used Daisy Bucket papers which I absolutely love, they have a real nice texture to them and a sketch from Creative Inspirations latest challenge. It's great using a sketch as I tend to take forever anyway, choosing papers and colours so anything that makes life easier is good for me.

I've also managed to squeeze this card into the Copics Colour Challenge this week. I don't have the exact colours but have used colours within the same tone. Note to self: Must get some more Copics, LOL.

Thanks for looking.

Copics Colour Challenge 28

Although I know I did not need anymore Christmas stamps, I was tempted to buy the Ollyfant Winter stamps - really good value at £5.99 at Sir Stampalot. I'm entering this card in the Copics Colour Challenge and although I didn't have the exact colours, these are in the same colour range. And some great news....my local craft shop, Sir Stampalot are now stocking Copics....so if I buy one or two every time I visit them I should build up my colour range pretty quickly, as I always seem to be in there!!

I have used a background card cut out on my Silhouette and also cut the snowflake and sentiment. Brad from Joanna Sheen Flora Doodles. Copics used: R29 Lipstick Red, B12 Ice Blue, various greens and browns. Been doing a fair bit of colouring lately, just need to find the time to make them into a card!

And another great bit of news, whilst at Sir Stampalot Demo days at the weekend, I correctly guessed how many buttons were in a jar and won a fantastic prize made by Louise and a Stamp donated by the shop. Louise is a very talented lady and will post a pic when I have collected them.

Thanks for looking,

Sue

Copic Colour Challenge 15

"This weeks challenge is to use the following colours. Remember - don't worry if you don't have the exact colours - use the nearest you have as long as they are Copics!"

I didn't have the exact colours so I chose R29 Lipstick Red, G17 Forest Green and W1 Warm Grey and tried to stay true to the colour theme.

I actually started this towards the end of last week but life got in the way of finishing the card off until tonight, lol! Better late than never....

The image is a digital download from Charmed Cards and Crafts and I think the backing papers are Kaiser, the sentiment is stamped and embossed and then layered onto a bellyband which I have cut on my Silhouette along with the scalloped circle. I have cut off the bottom of the circle to give it a different effect, not sure whether I like it or not?

Must, must get more Copics!

Copic Colour Challenge 13

Posted by Picasa
This week's challenge over at Copic Colour Challenge Blog doesn't require any particular colour copic - anything goes - but there is a sketch to follow. I've used a Sarah Kay image layered on Ppaermania papers, embellished with gem stones. I've used silver mirriboard, even though the top circle looks like it is yellow! Do pop over to the Copic Colour Challenge, the DT girls have done some brill cards, yet again!

We're having a get-together this evening with some friends to celebrate the Eurovision Song Contest - I know, very cheesy!!!! The idea is that we all chose a country to back (I am Russia as the host country) and we each provide food from that country. I'm really looking forward (I think) to see what Czech Republic bring - although, as they have been knocked out I hear my friend has swapped allegiance to Finland - likewise, wonder what sort of snack that will be?

Will post photos later....

Happy Crafting and Happy Singing!

Copic Colour Challenge No 12

This is my entry for Copic Challenge No 12. Why don't you pop over and see what the Challenge is all about. The designers have made some brill cards and well worth a look. The three colours that we should use this week areWell, I had RO 2 Flesh so that was okay. I really need more of these copics and, worse yet, my son who is doing A Level Art has started using them! I shall have to hide them....

My image is of Tilda layered on some free paper (I think from DoCrafts). I really love the swirls and tried to emphasise them with sparkling embossing powder - in fact, went a bit wild this week with the sparkling stuff, not sure it has come through on the photo though. I used the same colours on the flowers to try and bring it all together.

Really had a fun time this week.

Copic Colour Challenge No. 11

I have entered the Copic Colour Challenge which you can find here . It was a great excuse to get the Copics out - not that I need one. They are a joy to use, I LOVE them!

The Rules are:

This blog is a challenge blog for all copics marker addicts. The colours chosen are for a guide only. You may use 1 or all the colours if you desire.
Just make a card or other creation, using the image of your choice but try and follow the colour guide.
As long as you use at least one copic as close to one of the colours specified you may use any other medium as well.

Acid Yellow YO8, Brick Beige E31, Mint Green BG 13 are this week's colours.

I've not got the complete set (sigh...they are top of my wishlist) and didn't have exactly the colours stated so the nearest I could get were Yellow YO6, Burnt Umber E29 (blended with E21 and E00 on the fence) and various other colours.

What I wanted to try and create was a scene so first of all I stamped and clear embossed the background and coloured in with my Copics. I then chalked a cloudy sky. I coloured in the Sarah Kay image, cut round it and 3-d it on the page. Embellished with ribbon, sentiment, beads and a butterfly cut out on my Silhouette.

Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and am already looking forward to next week's challenge!
