Jubilee Bunting

Hey, I'm on a roll.....more bunting to show!  Been a busy couple of days making some Jubilee Bunting using Papermania's Portobello Road range - it's really nice to work with, quite a thick paper and once stuck onto card is very sturdy. I had thought about using material but I think you'll agree that you have to look very close to see that this is made with paper - a big bonus is that it's much much cheaper!  I've used my sewing machine to add that finishing home-made touch and give the impression of material.

Thanks for looking,
Sue

Copic Colour Challenge 13

Posted by Picasa
This week's challenge over at Copic Colour Challenge Blog doesn't require any particular colour copic - anything goes - but there is a sketch to follow. I've used a Sarah Kay image layered on Ppaermania papers, embellished with gem stones. I've used silver mirriboard, even though the top circle looks like it is yellow! Do pop over to the Copic Colour Challenge, the DT girls have done some brill cards, yet again!

We're having a get-together this evening with some friends to celebrate the Eurovision Song Contest - I know, very cheesy!!!! The idea is that we all chose a country to back (I am Russia as the host country) and we each provide food from that country. I'm really looking forward (I think) to see what Czech Republic bring - although, as they have been knocked out I hear my friend has swapped allegiance to Finland - likewise, wonder what sort of snack that will be?

Will post photos later....

Wedding card

This card took me forever to do - you know what it's like, trying to make decisions and what to do for the best. It is a card for my hubby's boss and it was from his section at work so I particularly wanted to try and do a good one. I knew I wanted to use the lovebirds and just took it from there. Practically everything was cut on my Silhouette, thank goodness for that lovely little machine! This is the insert for which I used papermania papers and a heart cut out. I found this beautiful poem by William Shakespeare and thought it was just perfect.

Charisma Cardz Challenge 14

Just happened upon Charisma Cardz Challenge and saw they had a competition using Purple and Green so thought - hey, what luck! I had just finished making this card with Purple and Green Papermania Springburst papers so on impulse decided to enter! I have embellished with one of the flowers cut out and a button centrepiece, some gems in the corner and the word Hi cut out on my Silhouette. I am sending it to a friend who I haven't had contact with for quite a while suggesting we meet up - I hope it won't be too long as would love to see her and her family again.

Valentine's Day!

I made this card for my hubby, I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do and sort of made it up as i went along. I'm very happy with the way it turned out but hadn't anticipated it spinning round so I had to do another centre piece to stick on the back. I cut the cardstock and circle out on my Silhouette which really made it easy. I then weld the words I Love You and put a mat around it. I then welded it to a frame.

I used Papermania Scrumptious paper for the insert as it fitted so perfectly with the theme!
